Magic number

The gap between a team's real average and the bookmaker's line (line − average). The larger in absolute value, the further the market strays from the data, and the more possible value there is.

Example

If a team averages 3.1 goals per match and the line is 2.5, the magic number is 0.6 in favour of the Over.
