Frequently asked questions

We answer the most common questions about how BetsTalent works, what a value bet is and why we are a stats tool, not a tipster.

Product and plans

What is BetsTalent?
BetsTalent is a stats and predictions tool for football, basketball, handball and tennis. We are not tipsters: we build our own statistical model (opponent-adjusted Elo + Poisson/Dixon-Coles) and show you how it reaches every number, comparing it with the market price. The decision to bet, and how much, is always yours.
Is it paid?
Predictions, basic stats, the day's first 3 recommendations, 2 live radar cards and the first 10 High-probability picks are free. Beyond that there's a single Premium with everything (€44.90/mo or €449/year; founder price of €29.90/mo or €299/year until 31 July): it unlocks all the day's recommendations with an instant Telegram alert, the full live match radar with real-time comeback alerts, the full High-probability list, the advanced stats filters, favourites syncing and CSV export, ad-free.
What does Premium include?
A single Premium with everything (€44.90/month or €449/year; founder price of €29.90/month or €299/year if you subscribe before 31 July, frozen for life as long as you stay subscribed): all of the day's pre-match recommendations — in full, frozen at publication and without the 2-free limit — with instant Telegram alerts and personal filters (value level, sports, odds, quiet hours); the full live radar with the comeback probability, Telegram alerts on your own probability filter, and the "Today's alerts" strip with each alert's final outcome (win or loss); the full High-probability list across all four sports; the full statistical filters, synced favourites, "My tracking", history and CSV export. It doesn't sell picks nor promise profit.
Why do I only see 3 free recommendations?
Each day we publish the first 3 recommendations in full for free, with their selection, odds and model probability. The rest are reserved for Premium. The results history and in-play matches are always open, so you can check performance before deciding.
What is the Bet Tracker?
It's your personal betting log inside BetsTalent. You can add bets in one click from the Recommendations or the Live radar, or log any bet manually (even if it's not in the system). The tracker shows your real P&L with your own odds and stake, and your stats by market and by league. It's a tracking tool, not a pick: only you can see your data. Available with Premium.
Do my tracker bets settle themselves?
Bets you add from Recommendations or Live settle themselves when the match ends, with your odds, and their result (won, lost or void) shows up in your P&L without you doing anything. The ones you log manually, you settle yourself with the "Result" button. If for any reason an automatic bet hasn't been resolved, you can always correct it by hand.
What are the per-league stats?
It's our FORECAST's hit rate broken down by league and by market, with its confidence interval and sample size. When there are few matches we warn you, because a small sample says little. They're available across all four sports (football, basketball, handball and tennis). Note: it's forecast accuracy, NOT yield against the odds. The advanced filters and CSV export are Premium.

Radar and live alerts

What is a live alert?
It's an informative Telegram message (Premium Live) that reaches you when the radar spots a live match going off script — a favourite in trouble or goals not arriving — and its comeback probability crosses the level YOU chose (from 20, 40, 55 or 65%). It includes the score, the signal, the probability, the live Bet365 odds as context and a "View analysis" link. You get a single alert per match and market, and every alert is logged in "Today's alerts" with its final outcome (win or loss). It's not a pick or a guaranteed tip: it's a data point for you to analyse and decide.
Why didn't I get an alert? What's a "promoted" alert?
We only alert you when a match's comeback probability crosses your filter: if the alert was born and died below your level, it never reached you — that's expected, not a bug. If it's born low and then climbs, it gets "promoted": it reaches you at the exact moment it crosses your level, and only then. Each match and market alerts only once, so you'll never get two messages for the same thing. Also check your filter and your "do not disturb" hours in your account: at a 65% filter you'll receive far fewer alerts than at 20%.
What do the radar's colour bands mean?
They're the quick read of the comeback probability: red, very low (up to 39%); yellow, low (40 to 54%); blue, medium-high (55 to 64%); and green, high (from 65%). The probability is recomputed every minute from the score and the time left, so a match can change bands during play. The band is a model output, not a recommendation: a green band guarantees nothing, just as a red one rules nothing out.
What is the comeback probability?
It is the real chance that a match which has turned against the favourite, or that isn't producing the expected goals, ends up back on track. We compute it from the sport, the score and the time left, and show it in the live radar across four colour bands. It is also known as comeback probability. There's a full definition with examples in the glossary.

Betting concepts

What is a value bet?
There is value when the real probability of an outcome is higher than the one implied by the odds. We calculate that probability with our model and compare it with the market odds. Value existing does not guarantee winning: it only means that, in the long run, the odds compensate the risk.
How do you convert odds into probability?
By dividing 1 by the odds. Odds of 2.00 imply 50% (1 ÷ 2.00). The sum of all probabilities exceeds 100%: that excess is the house margin. You'll find more definitions in our glossary.
What does Over/Under 2.5 goals mean?
"Over 2.5" wins with 3 or more goals in the match; "Under 2.5", with 2 or fewer. We show the goals expected by our model for each match, next to the line offered by the market.
What is BTTS (both teams to score)?
BTTS ("both teams to score") is the football market where you bet on whether both teams score at least one goal. "Yes" wins when both score; "No" when at least one is kept scoreless. Our model estimates that probability from each team's expected goals.
What is yield?
Yield is profit over amount staked, as a percentage. If across 100 bets of 1 unit you win 5 net units, your yield is 5%. It's the right way to measure long-term performance, better than counting hits alone, because it accounts for the odds of each bet.
What is the Elo system and why do you use it?
It is a rating system that measures the strength of each team or player based on who they have played. Beating a strong rival raises it more than beating a weak one, so it reflects real level better than simple averages. That rating anchors the base strength of our model across all sports.
How do I read "model vs market"?
For each match we show, market by market, our model's probability next to the one implied by the Bet365 odds. If our probability is higher than the market's, there is value on that selection; if it's lower, the price is expensive. We also show the odds movement (open → close), because how the market moves is one of the best judges of a prediction.

Method and honesty

Which sports do you cover?
Football, basketball, handball and tennis. In football we use a Poisson/Dixon-Coles model with attack and defence; in basketball and handball we combine opponent-adjusted Elo with pace; in tennis we keep separate Elo ratings by surface (clay, hard, grass and carpet).
Is there a mathematical method to always win?
No. The market is very efficient and nobody wins all the time. Statistics and models help you decide with criteria and spot value, but they don't remove the risk. Only bet what you can afford to lose.
Why don't you sell "sure" picks?
Because they don't exist. The betting market is very efficient and no model wins every time. Instead of promising certainties, we show our probability next to the market's —even when they agree and there is no edge— and we publish the model's real performance on already-settled bets, so you can judge for yourself. The data is ours to give; the decision is always yours.
What is the minimum age to use BetsTalent?
For adults only (18+). Betting carries risk. Gamble responsibly and only bet what you can afford to lose. If you think you may have a gambling problem, find help at jugarbien.es.
